Only the saltiest intertidal explorer truly understands the beauty and mystery of the humble “sea slug” — in this case, a spunky California sea hare. Named for its adorable rabbit-like, sensory organ "ears”, it’s one of my favorite invertebrates to find in the tide pools.

This little guy has got a secret weapon: it’ll squirt a purple-black ink if irritated… so try your best to keep him feeling happy and loved! :)
